I have spent the better part of my life learning, most of it coming from life rather than school. In that time I have had the opportunity to travel to 12 countries on four continents, learn French and Spanish, learn to love, let go, and love again. I learned that the world is home to all living beings, and we all have much more in common than we are different.
I learned I don’t care for spicy food, but I do love pain au chocolate from France, kebab sandwiches from North Africa, and bandeja paisa from Colombia.
I wrote and published my first written work at age five, had business cards and a briefcase at age 6, and was fortunate enough to visit most of the large metropolitan cities in the US before reaching high school. While in high school I traveled to both coasts of Mexico, and spent a month in South Africa.
At age 16 I chose to complete my last two years of high school at Bellevue Community College, where I first began learning French. While attending my junior year at college in Southern France, I met and fell in love with a young woman from Bogota Colombia. We have been celebrated over 11 of the best years of our lives together.
At age 22, only two months after graduating from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in linguistics, I convinced my fiancé to join me in starting a business. We charged $50,000 onto 14 different credit cards, and within a short period of time were upside down, not making enough to break even, and eventually sold the business for about $2,500.
The $50,000 we owed our 14 credit cards didn’t go away, and we sought help from a financial planner. We were given two options; one to declare bankruptcy, the other to work for eight years to climb back to zero. I was rather displeased with either option and in a burst of creativity began what became a financial plan that we used to get out of debt, buy our first home, and begin traveling regularly, all in about three to four years.
With this success friends and family began asking questions and wanted to know our secret for success. I began consulting and soon wrote a book and created a course to accompany it with the sole purpose of helping as many people as possible awaken the dreams within, and the financial tools to move toward financial independence.
I invite you to view the Events tab to learn more about courses I facilitate, and purchase my book under the Products tab. Feel free to contact me. I read every email and promise to respond as soon as possible. Here is to you and your success.
